MIDLAND (WKZO) -- Attorney General Bill Schuette returned to Midland to announce that he will be running for reelection.
It was not a big surprise.
What was a surprise was that he did not mention what has been his main focus for the last few days, the same sex marriage debate.
He finally commented on it when pressed by reporters later but didn’t take a position.
Schuette says its a matter for the courts to decide.
Kalamazoo Democrat Mark Totten commented that he thinks Schutte efforts to ban gay marriage will ultimately hurt the foster kids who have been adopted by gay couples, or won't be adopted now because of the continued ban.
