ANTWERP TOWNSHIP (WKZO) --A Kalamazoo man who was wanted on drug charges led Deputies from Van Buren and Kalamazoo County on a high speed chase across both counties, blowing through stop signs at 90 mph late Sunday morning.
Van Buren County Deputies were manning a radar post when they spotted a car with obstructed vision and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver bolted and the chase began down 28th Ave. into Kalamazoo County, shooting through stop signs on H Ave., turning onto 5th where he momentary shook pursuing officers.
Kalamazoo Deputies spotted him on KL Avenue and with the help of Van Buren Deputies, stopped the 1997 Chevy S-10 pickup.
They discovered the driver; 25-year-old Jason Smith was wanted on a pair of drug warrants, one for meth, one for marijuana and was driving on a suspended license.
He will also have fleeing and eluding added to the charges. He is being held in the Van Buren County Jail on 50-thousand dollars bond.
