UNDATED (WHTC) -- Governor Snyder has proclaimed the week of May 4th as Arson Awareness Week. The proclamation is to focus public attention on vehicle fires. “Vehicle arson is not a victimless crime,” said State Fire Marshall Richard Miller. “We all pay in the way of higher insurance premiums, fire fighters exposure to the deadly mix of fuel and fire, loss of life and destruction of property.” According to FBI statistics, there were more than 14-thousand, seven-hundred vehicle fires nationally between 2003 and 2012.
