ANN ARBOR (WKZO) -- GM CEO Mary Barra seemed to be speaking from personal experience when she gave advice to graduating students at the University of Michigan Commencement in Ann Arbor this weekend.
She told the students that hope is not a strategy. That problems don’t go away on their own or get better, they tend to get bigger and worse.
She didn’t directly mention the Ignition switch recall, but seemed to be referring to it when she gave this advice about problem solving. To not wait and address it head on. Get the right people in a room together and take on the challenge.
She told the 95-hundred graduating seniors and graduate students to be honest, work hard and keep their families close.
