LUDINGTON (WKZO) -- The mother of convicted cop killer Eric Knysz has cut a deal with prosecutors after she was charged in aiding in his escape by helping him steal a car.
Knysz was arrested soon after shooting and killing state trooper Paul Butterfield. Soon after sentencing, he hung himself in a holding cell in Jackson.
As part of the deal, Tammi Spofford’s will serve less than a year in prison for aiding and abetting.
In exchange the prosecutor will drop a charge of unlawfully driving away a vehicle.
She will be sentenced June 17th.
