LANSING (WKZO) -- Tourism spending continues to climb as Michigan falls back on their tried and true Pure Michigan campaign to bring the tourists in.
Tourism Spending in Michigan last hear hit a record 18.7-billion. They will be spending 12.6-million on the ads this year.
The national ads have been running since March, including the new “Songs of Summer” spot.
The Regional spots, including one that features the city of Holland was just unveiled this past week by Governor Snyder, who says the rate of return on the spots has been impressive.
Kalamazoo partnered with the state last year, and it worked so well That Greg Ayers at the Convention and Visitors Bureau says they will keep it going this summer, running Kalamazoo’s distinctive radio ad in Chicago.
South Haven will also be running a regional campaign with the help of the state this year.
