DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Tigers have started another streak, but it’s the wrong kind, losing two in a row.

Twins pitcher Phil Hughes tossed seven innings of scoreless ball to guide Minnesota to a 2-1 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park. Hughes improved to 4-and-1 for Minnesota, which snapped a three-game slide.

Glen Perkins locked up his ninth save. Kurt Suzuki knocked in both runs.

Austin Jackson went 3-for-4 with a run scored for Detroit.

Verlander gave up both runs over seven frames for the loss. The Tigers will try to end this streak this afternoon against Minnesota in Detroit.
