KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A former Prairieville Reserve Police Officer who walked into a State Police sex sting at the Holiday Inn in Oshtemo, has now waived his preliminary hearing.
That means Michael Strong is headed for trial unless he cuts a deal with prosecutors.
State Police say they had gotten a tip that Strong was using an internet site called ‘grindr’ to solicit sex from young men.
They ran an ad featuring a young male that seemed to be his type, and scheduled a meeting when he responded. Then they rigged the motel room with cameras and microphones.
They claim Strong showed up in full uniform, his sidearm in its holster, his dispatch radio on his shoulder and a bag of ecstasy and adderall in his hand.
The pills were allegedly to be his fee for the sex.
A State Trooper posing as a 19-year old was waiting.
He is charged with delivery of amphetamines and a gun count.
