(WNFL)- The 2018 Super Bowl will be played about 25 miles west of the Wisconsin border in Minneapolis. Yesterday, NFL owners awarded Super Bowl-52 to Minnesota on the fourth ballot. Indianapolis was the first to be eliminated, followed by New Orleans -- which has hosted the NFL title game ten times, including in the 1996 season when the Packers won it. The Vikings won the 2018 bid largely on the strength of their new stadium that will open in two years. It will seat 63-thousand normally, but will expand to 72-thousand for what will be Minnesota's second Super Bowl. The Washington Redskins won Super Bowl-26 at the former Metrodome in 1992. Next year's game will be in Glendale Arizona. Super Bowl-50 will then be staged in Santa Clara California. It's Houston after that, and then Minneapolis.
