Tigers take down Rangers

DETROIT (WTVB) - The Tigers snapped their four game skid last night by beating the Rangers 7-2 in game two of the 4-game series at Comerica Park. Former Texas second baseman Ian Kinsler had three doubles against his old team and scored 3 runs with an rbi for Detroit. Austin Jackson had a 2-run homer and Andrew Romine a solo shot for the Tigers. Romine’s sixth inning blast was his first major league home run and ended a 2 for 35 stretch. Anibal Sanchez allowed two runs on 5 hits over seven innings to even his record at 2-2. Detroit improved to 28-16 and they have the largest division lead in both leagues at 5-and-a-half games in the AL Central over the Twins. Rick Porcello goes to the mound for the Tigers against the Rangers this afternoon with a 4:08 starting time in Detroit. The White Sox rallied to down the Yankees 6-5 in Chicago last night on Adam Dunn’s 2-run walk off home run. And the Cubs lost in a rout 11-1 at San Diego.
