Former Texas second baseman Ian Kinsler had three doubles against his old team and scored 3 runs with an rbi for Detroit. Austin Jackson had a 2-run homer and Andrew Romine a solo shot for the Tigers. Romine’s sixth inning blast was his first major league home run and ended a 2 for 35 stretch. Anibal Sanchez allowed two runs on 5 hits over seven innings to even his record at 2-2. Detroit improved to 28-16 and they have the largest division lead in both leagues at 5-and-a-half games in the AL Central over the Twins.
