DETROIT (WKZO) -- Prosecutors are asking U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds to give a star witness against Kwame Kilpatrick during the city hall corruption trial a break when he is sentenced this week. The U.S. Attorney's Office is asking for Edmunds to give Derrick Miller no more than three years and four months in prison because of his testimony and the fact that he appears to be remorseful about his behavior.

Miller faces up to ten years behind bars after pleading guilty to taking 115-thousand dollars in kickbacks and failing to report income on his tax return. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.
