DETROIT (WKZO) -- Miguel Cabrera blasted out of his batting slump finishing 4-for-4, including two homers, seven RBIs, scoring more than half of the Tigers total run output for the day, beating Cleveland 12-1 in the opener of a four-game series.
Cabrera wasn't the only one knocking them out of the ballpark.
Tyler Collins got his first Major League dinger, hitting a three-run shot, Victor Martinez slugged a two-run homer and J.D. Martinez added a solo blast for the Tigers.
David Price scattered eight hits and walked two while allowing one run, striking out eight batters.
It was a welcome win, but the Royals also won so Detroit did not gain any ground on the Division leader.
