KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- At a time when some are questioning the value of a college education, a couple of recent rankings suggest you could do a lot worse than WMU or KVCC in Kalamazoo.
Last week the Washington Monthly ranked Western Michigan University as the 54th best school in the nation for the bang for the buck it delivers to its students.
It ranked 90th overall in the nation for the programs it provides to turn students into productive citizens.
That covers tuition, what about room and board?
Another recent ranking issued by the website “Great Value Colleges” recently ranked college towns by their affordability, and Kalamazoo ranked 20th.
All the college towns that had a lower cost of living were in Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas.
