KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- WMU staff and students now have to abide by a ban on smoking on campus, but if they want to quit they don’t have to do it alone.
The University has been and will continue to offer assistance until Christmas Eve.
The University will reimburse up to 150-dollars for the out of pocket cost for OTC or prescription smoking aids.
Cari Robertson with the Sindecuse Health Center says 50 people have taken advantage of the offer so far and she expects more now that the ban has taken effect.
She says they will also direct anyone who wants to quit smoking to a number of insurance and charitable phone services and on-line programs to help get them through.
Smokers who want to quit can get more information at this website. wmich.edu/healthcenter/clinic/tobacco-free.
