Michigan ad wars heat up as election is two months away

ROYAL OAK (WKZO) -- The Snyder campaign is slamming an ad paid for by the Democratic Governor’s Association that is just hitting the airwaves.

It features Royal Oak Teacher Kim Stanley who bashes the governor because of cuts to education.

The Snyder campaign says it’s full of inaccuracies and called on Mark Schauer to refute the ad.

Schauer told our Jeremy Lawrence that he also believes that Snyder has cut school funding, at least the funding that makes it to the classroom.

MIRS news agency crunched the numbers and found that the Royal Oak School District is receiving about 5% less this year or about $440 per pupil less than it did the year before Snyder took office.
