HAMILTON TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — A persistent drunk driver wasn’t going to let a little thing like a rollover traffic crash keep her from getting to her destination, or at least avoiding entanglements with the law.
Witnesses say they observed the driver of the white mini-van travel for nearly two miles straddling the centerline Friday evening, before the 34-year-old from Dowagiac lost control and rolled the van over at 72nd and C.R. 358, late Friday night.
She landed on her wheels.
As the good Samaritans approached the van to see if she needed help, she drove off. And they took off after her, eventually getting her to stop.
Deputies caught up to them about 3-miles away, and determined she was drunk. She was booked at the County Jail for driving while intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
