STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – An 18-year-old woman from Sturgis was airlifted to Bronson in Kalamazoo Monday evening after a single vehicle rollover that injured four. St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department deputies say that the teen driver was westbound on Schweitzer Road just before 7 p.m. Monday when she entered a curve at a high rate of speed, lost control of her Pontiac and went off the side of the road, rolling the vehicle several times.
The three passengers, another young female and two young males were all from Three Rivers. They were all wearing their seatbelts and treated for minor injuries at Three Rivers Hospital.
The driver was in critical condition. No names have been released. Deputies say if the driver survives, she will be cited for careless driving.
