COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says a motorcyclist from Bronson was critically injured yesterday afternoon in a collision with a car in Kinderhook Township. According to deputies, 58-year old Raymond Squier, Jr. was westbound on Copeland Road west of I-69 when a pick-up truck that was headed east drifted over the centerline and struck the motorcycle.
Squier, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, suffered a serious injury to his left leg. He was taken by Life Care Ambulance to the airport in Angola, Indiana and then flown out by Good Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, where he’s listed in critical condition.
The driver of the car, identified as 29-year old Randy Leonard, Jr. of Montgomery, wasn’t injured. Deputies said alcohol was not a factor in the accident which remains under investigation. The Lakeland Fire Department and Coldwater City Police also assisted at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly before 3 p.m. Monday.
