CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO)– There is a team of 14-investigators working full time to determine if there is a sniper taking random shots at passing traffic on I-94 and I-69 in Calhoun and Branch Counties.
They are reportedly following up on a number of leads. Sheriff Matt Saxton says this is similar to the Rowlie Castille case in eastern Michigan,
He says that crime was solved by an observant citizen who caught Castille’s license number.
Saxton says citizens here should watch for cars that are parked in suspicious locations near the highways, especially overpasses.
He recommends if youR car is hit, drive to the next exit and call 9-1-1 immediately.
Saxton says they have also asked the FBI to provide a profiler to help identify the kind of person who would do such a thing.
