VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A pair of 19-year-olds are being held without bond at a jail in Van Buren County after a routine traffic stop on County Road 665 turned up drugs, including mushrooms.
The bust was made after 10 p.m. Monday. A cracked taillight and a weaving driver prompted the sheriff’s deputy to pull over the car, which was being driven by Gage Trowbridge of Kalamazoo.
A computer check revealed he was wanted on outstanding warrants and had a suspended driver’s license. That triggered a search of Trowbridge’s vehicle.
They found an array of drugs, including Xanax, methadone, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms.
Gage is being held for the suspended license, drug counts and for violating probation.
The man from Hillsdale, whose name has not been released, faces primarily drug charges with intent to deliver.
