(Coburn Gore, ME) — The search for a West Michigan murder suspect is now focused on a border town in Maine.
Allison Lemont recognized Harold “Butch” Knight in a photo as a man she attended classes with at Central Maine Community College before Knight and his wife, Sara, moved to Michigan.
Lemont works at a store in Stratton, Maine, where police went door-to-door at businesses handing out photos of Knight late last week.
He was last seen in Rangeley, Maine January 19, six days after his wife was found dead in their home near Fennville in Allegan County.
Canadian customs agents have photos of Knight and are watching for him, and authorities went to every store in nearby Coburn Gore distributing information on the suspect.
Law enforcement on both sides of the border is using snowmobiles to try to track down Knight and send him back to Michigan to face charges.
