LANSING (WKZO) — A Michigan Baseball Hall of Fame will open in June in Lansing. It’s the brainchild of Lansing Lugnuts owner Tom Dickson, and it will be housed at Cooley Law School Stadium with a look similar to Monument Park at Yankee Stadium in New York. It will be past the left-center field wall as part of a renovation of the ballpark in downtown Lansing.
Ten inductees for the inaugural class will be chosen by a panel of nine baseball experts including Detroit Tigers broadcaster Mario Impemba, former Tigers broadcaster Paul Carey, Lansing TV sports anchors Fred Heumann and Tim Staudt, and Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Joe Block. That announcement is due June 27th when the Hall of Fame opens.
