KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo Public Safety has removed two more weapons from the streets in the Edison neighborhood after two suspects riddled a home with gun fire in the 13-hundred block of Washington around 2 p.m. Sunday.
Lt. Stacy Geik says it’s a notorious address with an extensive history of gang related criminal activity and gun violence.
They found numerous spent shell casings in the grass in the back yard, and eventually found the guns, which had been hidden, as the triggermen fled the scene.
They recovered a Russian AK-47, and a sawed off pump-action shotgun with a shortened stock.
They hope to recover fingerprints from either the guns or the shell casings and identify the shooters.
