PORTLAND (WKZO) — State grants to cover repairs from damage caused by an EF-1 tornado in Portland are now being made available.
Governor Sndyer has issued a disaster declaration for Ionia County, citing the damage in the city of Portland along with Orange and Portland townships on June 22nd.
The recovery efforts are being coordinated by Michigan state Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division.
The Disaster and Emergency Contingency Fund has also been opened to help local governments with grants available of up to 100-thousand dollars.
