AUGUSTA, MI (WTVB) – Michigan U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow and Congressman Fred Upton visited Fort Custer yesterday to promote the location as prime for a proposed $3.5-billion antiballistic missile base and to support the Air National Guard Base’s application to become a cyber security facility. Upton says three sites are competing for the Pentagon Missile Contract, which would create 300 permanent jobs.
Upton says the entire Michigan Congressional Delegation may pick a day and visit the base in September to continue the drumbeat for the upgrades.
