SOUTH HAVEN (WKZO) — Van Buren County detectives need your help to identify the thieves who stole 1,566 pounds of Blueberries that were being temporarily stored in 87 plastic bins called lugs.
They had just been harvested at a farm in the 61-thousand block of 16th Ave. in Geneva Township.
They were being stored overnight in an unlocked building for shipment yesterday morning, but disappeared sometime overnight.
The thieves would have needed a truck or a trailer for the heist and some insider knowledge.
They would have also have to have knowledge of where to sell that many blueberries without attracting suspicion.
The berries were valued at $27-hundred.
