QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department was called out over the weekend to check out a report of an unusual drunk driving car fire in Quincy Township. It turns out someone got their vehicle stalled on the railroad bed of tree stumps and brush along Briggs Road north of U.S. 12 and the car ended up on fire.
The Quincy Fire Department was dispatched to the scene east of Quincy and put out the fire. Arriving deputies said the driver, a 35-year old Battle Creek man, appeared to be intoxicated. No injuries were reported.
Luke Wasikowski was taken to the Branch County jail and booked on a charge OUIL Second Offense. He was arraigned yesterday with bond set at $5,000. At last word, Wasikowski was still behind bars. He’s due back in court for a probable cause hearing on July 7, 2015.
