KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Water still covers much of the baseball complex at Mayors Riverfront Park, after the riverfront shifted over the weekend.
A big city pump is running at Homer Stryker Field as they try and drain the flood waters from the complex in time for this weekend’s twin double headers.
Perhaps more importantly the big fireworks show the only one most people in Kalamazoo will have access to.
They have been making some headway, with more of the field revealed to the air and less underwater, but there is still a lot of the complex that is flooded.
The Growlers Organization says if they can’t get the field ready in time, their back up plan is to head to C.O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek.
The Bombers will be on the road this weekend.
Last night the Growlers were in Battle Creek for a game that went extra innings. The Bombers finally won 4-3 in the bottom of the 13th.
