COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Police agencies all over Southwest Michigan are telling residents that as the snow melts away this week, stay away from piles of trash that may be revealed by the side of the road. There is a good chance it’s a discarded meth lab, like the one found yesterday in Coldwater Township.
Branch County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Hurley Road west of River road early Tuesday afternoon for a Meth complaint. Upon arrival, meth responders from the Sheriff’s office discovered a backpack that had been dumped on the north side of Hurley road in a field. The meth found inside of the back pack was not an active lab.
The cleanup was conducted by deputies and the materials disposed of at the State Police container in Coldwater. The Sheriff’s Department is continuing their investigation.
