COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Pink slips for staff in the Coldwater School District could be announced at tonight’s meeting of the Board of Education. The anticipated layoffs were first mentioned at last month’s school board meeting with word of a growing budget deficit. The red ink has been brought on in part by a decline in enrollment of 60 students compared to last year.
The exact number of job cuts hasn’t been revealed. Agendas for school board sessions in Coldwater are generally not made available until the afternoon of the meeting.
