BIRMINGHAM (WKZO) — A Birmingham woman is angry after she says her sixth-grade son was sent home from school because he hasn’t been vaccinated against chicken pox.
Sarah Donovan tells the “Detroit Free Press” she believes Birmingham Public Schools is bullying her eleven-year-old son, Michael, who was forced to leave school earlier this week.
She adds health officials are overreacting after the school district told parents earlier this week there were three confirmed cases of chicken pox in three district schools.
The district recommended parents with children not totally vaccinated stay home until they knew they weren’t infected.
