KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University men’s basketball tips off its season Saturday with an exhibition against Kalamazoo College at University Arena.
Head Coach Steve Hawkins says he’s excited to hit the hardwood.
“We have a good mixture of good, young players, as well as some veterans with some good experience,” Hawkins said.
The Broncos will start the season without star senior forward Connar Tava, who is sidelined indefinitely with a broken foot.
Hawkins, however, says, despite the loss, the rest of the team’s talent level is high.
“We have some good returning players, as well as some of our freshmen that have come in that are very impressive so far,” Hawkins said.
The game will start at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 96.5 WZOX-FM in the Kalamazoo area.
