LAWRENCE (WKZO-AM) — A minivan driver is hospitalized after pulling in front of a Hartford Public Schools bus at County Road 681 and Red Arrow Highway.
It happened after 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Supt. Andrew Hubbard says 22 students were on their way to the Van Buren Technology Center in Lawrence at the time.
“Our bus driver and students were immediately checked out by the EMTs and were allowed to leave the scene,” Hubbard said. “We have had one student at the vocational center that has complained of some pain in her shoulder.”
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office has not released the condition of the minivan driver, though Hubbard said he suffered minor injuries. He also said his wife and two children, who were inside the vehicle at the time, left the scene uninjured.
UPDATE 11/18 4:07 a.m.: The minivan driver has been identified as Alex Dudley, 38, of the Dowagiac area. He suffered injuries to his arm, while his passengers, a 35-year-old woman and two young children, were uninjured.
