NEW YORK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek woman with 17 years of hot air ballooning experience was back in New York to take part in the 89th-annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Megan Avery has been handling balloons at the event since 2009 after she met the parade’s creative director in Jackson nearly a decade ago.
On Thursday, she helped guide a giant helium-filled version of the popular Pokemon Pikachu through the city’s upper-west side and midtown.
