VICKSBURG (WKZO-AM) — Vicksburg has made plans to install a free wireless Internet in the village’s downtown area.
Village officials say they want to increase foot traffic and shopping in the village south of Portage. It has been something the city council and downtown development authority have been discussing for the past year.
The initial start-up cost is being split by eight businesses, and the village expects the system to eventually pay for itself using advertising.
The DDA says everything should be plugged in and ready to go by as late as the middle of November, but could be ready as early as this month.
