BERRIEN SPRINGS (WKZO-AM) — A woman is hospitalized in stable condition with serious injuries to her head and torso after she and her son were struck by a pickup.
It happened at South Cass and West Ferry streets at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday as Stephanie McLaughlin, 28, was crossing the roadway with Duane McLaughlin, 4.
Stephanie McLaughlin was airlifted to a hospital in South Bend, Ind.
Duane McLaughlin suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention, according to a press release from the Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Department.
The condition of the driver, 39-year-old Jeremy Bowie of St. Joseph, was not mentioned in the press release
It’s not clear if drugs or alcohol factored into the crash.
