POKHARA, NEPAL (WKZO-AM) — The U.S. State Department has agreed to send an underwater recovery team to try to find the body of a Portage Central High School and Kalamazoo College graduate.
WWMT-TV reports the crew will focus on a river where Dahlia Yehia was dumped, according to the person who confessed to killing her.
That man is still recovering from a failed suicide attempt that was made after his arrest. He is expected to be formally charged on Monday.
Police say he admitted to killing her in her sleep with a hammer three days after she came to stay at his house. He became a suspect because he was using her stolen cell phone.
Yehia traveled to the country to help with earthquake relief efforts.
