COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A mid-year review of finances at the Community Health Center of Branch County by the hospital’s auditing firm shows there are no needed adjustments. Amy Crouch, the Chief Financial Officer at CHC, told the Health Center’s Board of Trustees last night at their regular September meeting that the no adjustment audit review is a very good thing. She explained to the Trustees that ultimately it indicated that the hospital did not need to make any adjustments to their current contractual reserve.
According to Crouch, they are working to simplify how they calculate necessary reserve amounts from their gross charges as well in-term payments from Blue Cross, Medicare and Medicaid. In August, CHC closed the month with a positive net income of $97,000 and has reported a profit every month for 2015. Net income for the year is nearly $650,000 compared to a year ago at this time when the hospital had losses totaling $1.8 million.
