MARSHALL, MI (WNWN) – The Calhoun County Treasurer’s Office will hold the county’s annual tax sale next Tuesday, August 30 at the Kellogg Community College Binda Performing Arts Center in Battle Creek.
Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. with the auction starting at 12:00noon.
A total of 204 foreclosed properties will be auctioned off which is down from 242 properties last year.
County Treasurer Christine Schauer says getting these properties back on the tax rolls provides critical funding for local schools, roads, public safety and programs for seniors and veterans.
Two featured properties are in Springfield. They are a commercial building at 1550 W Goguac Street and a house at 733 Upton Ave.
Last year’s tax sale auction recovered nearly $1 million in lost tax revenue to Calhoun County.
