MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – A portion of I-94 near Marshall had to be shut down for about an hour Tuesday morning after a 46-year-old woman from Battle Creek was struck by a semi.
The woman somehow survived and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says she was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance System in Jackson.with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
They say it’s a miracle she survived.
The incident happened just before 6:00am on the westbound side near the 113 Mile Marker when the unidentified woman lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail. She then left the road and came to a stop approximately 50 feet from the road. She got out of her vehicle and tried to flag down traffic for help when she was struck by the semi. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Michigan State Police, Marengo Township Fire, and Marshall Ambulance. The interstate reopened just before 7:00 a.m.
