BROOKLYN, MI (WTVB) – Kyle Larson claimed his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win in the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway, clinching a berth in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Larson took the lead from Chase Elliot on a restart with nine laps to go thanks to a push from third place finisher Brad Keselowski. Elliot finished second and just like in June, he was kicking himself afterwards for a poor restart.
The victory came in Larson’s 99th career start and was the first win for Chip Ganassi Racing in 99 races.
