KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are thanking the manager of a north side strip club for tipping them off about a man with a concealed gun.
Officers were dispatched to Little Darlings on Ravine Road at 2:30 a.m. Sunday after a disturbance was reported and the manager saw a gun in the waistband of one of the customers.
He gave a description of the man to 911. The suspect left the business and was spotted by responding officers who chased him into a wooded area along Douglas Avenue near Ravine Road, tackling him in a stream, and cuffing him.
They recovered the pistol, which they later learned had been stolen.
The 19-year-old suspect who has a Grand Rapids address, was booked in the county jail for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and resisting arrest.
