QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A car and a horse-drawn Amish buggy collided head-on Wednesday morning in Branch County and fortunately, there were no serious injuries. The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. in the southeast corner of the county in California Township.
Branch County Sheriff’s Deputies say a Ford Taurus driven by a Camden man crossed the centerline on Haight Road in the curve near Kelly Road and struck the buggy. One of the two men in the carriage suffered a head injury and was taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County by Life Care Ambulance to be checked out.
The car driver wasn’t hurt even though deputies say the horse landed on the vehicle and cracked the front windshield. He was cited for careless driving. No names were released.
