ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Removing Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser from office cost the state $77,000, and it could cost Allegan County nearly that much to replace them with the election still months away.
Allegan County Commissioner Jim Storey said the costs are shared between the county and various townships and villages in the county.
“We spent roughly $37,500 to conduct the (primary) election, then the direct county costs were in the $12,000 range,” Storey said.
Those do not include the costs involved in reprinting the election ballots that were made useless when the state ordered the special election. That cost another $10,000.
If you include those costs, the running total settles at $59,500.
