TERRELL, TEXAS (WKZO-AM) — A couple from Michigan who were hitch-hiking across the country have been missing for nearly a month.
Now, their families are worried that something has happened to them.
Patrick Antolovich of Kalamazoo and his girlfriend, Sidney VanHulle, both of whom are in their early 20s, last contacted their families from the Hulsey Public Library in Terrell, Texas. They said on Facebook that they had been recently robbed and needed money.
Their families were prepared to have a money order sent to a local Walmart and a prepaid phone waiting at a Verizon store, but neither was picked up.
The couple said they were planning to hitch hike to Florida, but there is no trace of them after they spent their day at the library.
Family members say it’s out of character for them not to be in contact through social media.
