KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Organizers are making final preparations for the 90-mile Talons Out Honor Ride, which takes place this Sunday morning.
Talons Out Honor Flight Vice President Dan Moyle says registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the American Legion in Schoolcraft. The ride will start at 9 a.m.
“We’ll go to the Veterans’ Medical Center in Battle Creek, to the Athens VFW, then we’ll end at the Three Rivers American Legion,” Moyle said.
He’s urging riders to carry photos of their heroes with them on the journey.
“Either hard copy or on your phone,” Moyle said. “It could be somebody who is currently surving in the military, or a veteran who was retired, or somebody who has passed away maybe.”
Single riders can register for $25. Couples can ride for $35.
Dinner will be provided for riders in Three Rivers. A $5 breakfast will be offered in Schoolcraft, with proceeds also benefitting the non-profit.
Proceeds will help offset costs associated with sending 80 veterans to Washington D.C. on Sept. 10.
