COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County prosecutors have filed nine charges against a man who authorities say used computers and electronic devices to commit sex crimes.
38 year old Matthew Collins was arraigned on Wednesday in Branch County District Court. Five of the charges involved the alleged illegal use of computers.
The other four charges include possession of child sexually abusive material and distributing obscene material to a child.
The investigation by the Michigan State Police started last fall when they found Collins with a 16-year-old runaway at a Coldwater motel.
Bond had been set at $500,000. A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for July 21st and a preliminary exam will be held on July 28th.
