BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A man who greeted police at his Battle Creek apartment with a gun in his hand is jailed on domestic assault and weapons charges.
The man’s girlfriend told 911 she suffered facial injuries, was threatened and had the same weapon pulled on her during an altercation at the residence near Maple Grove Avenue and Wren Street at around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Both were drinking at the time of the incident, according to a press release.
The firearm was seized after a brief standoff, which began after the 41-year-old slammed the front door on first-responding officers.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.
