UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) -Union City will be celebrating its sesquicentennial over three days next weekend. The 150th birthday party will start on Friday afternoon with an opening ceremony at the Village Green at 2:00 p.m., senior citizen activities at 2:30 p.m. in the Congregational Church and a Variety Show at 7:00 p.m. in the Union City High School gym.
Other activities throughout the weekend include a Civil War Encampment as well as the announcement of the Citizen of the Year and a Sesquicentennial Tree Dedication on Saturday.
Sunday’s schedule includes the Field Day at Union City’s Alumni Field at 7:00pm followed by a fireworks show at 10:00pm which organizers say will be the largest and best yet.
