KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Erik’s Army, the group pushing for prosecution in the 33-year-old cold case murder of Erik Cross of Vicksburg, says it has raised enough money to put up five billboards in the Kalamazoo area.
They will continue their fundraising to keep the billboards up as long as they can, in an effort to generate more tips that could lead to murder charges in the case. The group said they have put up flyers in the past, but they’re small and can be taken down or are blown off by the weather. A billboard is more visible and permanent.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Pauli Matyas said they welcome the help. The group’s efforts generated a couple of new tips just last week.
Matyas said they continue to get tips, about half involve information they already have.
